A group of us just returned from the SIOR Spring Conference in Palm Springs, California—and it was a strong reminder that the best commercial real estate professionals don’t just focus on transactions. They stay involved: in the industry, in their communities, and in continually improving how they show up.

Coldwell Banker Commercial is proud to be an SIOR Annual Industry Partner and sponsor. SIOR—the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors—is a tight‑knit network of elite CRE specialists who value high standards, ethics, and best‑practice sharing. It’s a room filled with serious producers who are equally serious about learning from one another.

That spirit showed up throughout the conference, including in the keynote sessions. Mike Cessario, founder and CEO of Liquid Death, distilled his message into a simple and memorable line: “Small bets help find the big wins.” It was a powerful reminder that real progress—whether in business, branding, or career growth—often comes from thoughtful, intentional choices made consistently over time. Not every move has to be massive to be meaningful.

Jim VandeHei, founder and CEO of Axios, followed with a complementary takeaway around communication: attention is scarce, and clarity matters more than ever. You don’t get long to make an impact, so your message needs to be concise, relevant, and worth someone’s time.

Even the lighter moments reinforced those themes. CBC has developed a bit of a reputation for bringing the best swag to conferences, and this year was no exception. As part of our sponsorship, every attendee received a CBC‑branded SIOR tote—practical, well-designed, and built to last. It’s a small detail, but one that reflects how we think about the brand: show up thoughtfully, add value, and be remembered for quality. Small bets. Big wins.

Inside the CBC network, the momentum continues. We “minted” four new SIORs in 2025 and are on track to add another four in 2026—evidence that our professionals are not only producing at a high level, but engaging deeply in the industry.

Looking ahead, SIOR’s Fall 2026 Conference will be in New York City, October 19–22. If you’re interested in attending or exploring the SIOR path, I’d be happy to connect.

Finally, a helpful tie‑in: SIOR’s current global president, Saadia Shaikh, was recently featured on the CRE with CBC Worldwide podcast (Women of CBC edition), hosted by our own Jenna Hille. It’s a great example of how involvement, leadership, and visibility continue to reinforce the strength of our brand.
